I use a curriculum for preschool that focuses on play-based learning with an emphasis on readying children for kindergarten. I also focus on life skills needed to instill confidence and independence. I follow a Montessori and Reggio inspired pedagogy of teaching. We focus on learning through constructive, creative, hands on educational play. We utilize many natural materials and spend time exploring the outdoors. I have a large one acre backyard perfect for young adventurers! I have a room designed with intentional spaces set up to expand play, creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking. While children are learning many academic and social skills we do not forget the importance of emotional well being by fostering empathy, forgiveness, and compassion. I strive to give children a strong, well-rounded foundation upon which they can make the transition to kindergarten well equipped for their academic journey.

I use the ECIPs (Early Childhood Indicators of Progress) that are Minnesota's Early Learning Standards for school readiness for children 6 weeks - 6 years of age. Developing my curriculum around the ECIPs ensures that children learn all of the domains important for early childhood development including Social & Emotional Development, Approaches to Learning, Language & Literacy Development, Creativity & the Arts, Cognitive Development, & Physical & Motor Development.

Quiet Time

Fulfilling a child’s need for quiet for his mind and body, one simple idea at a time.

Math

Building a strong foundation of numbers, counting, and big math
concepts through play.

Literacy

Playfully explore letters, sounds, and so much more instilling a
love of reading in the littlest of hearts.

Get Outside

Children need plenty of time to play and learn in nature. Ideas for everything Mother Nature throws our way.

We do creative art, preschool, circle time, story time, indoor & outdoor play, park visits, walks, singing, dancing, games, & special occasion parties. We have special visits from community helpers such as the fire department, police officer, dental hygienist, etc.. We have lots of fun everyday. Caring for children is my profession of choice.

I enjoy children; playing with them, talking with them, teaching them, & meeting their physical & emotional needs. I communicate with parents each day on children's activities & accomplishments. I keep detailed record on each child's development that I share with parents. I also have a password protected blog site for my currently enrolled families.  I post updates, monthly calendars, & photos of precious moments with your child.
